'Man' Won't Get The Job Done, We Need A Helping Hand
by Phil Branch

With our globe in the turmoil that it is and all of the challenges that face us here in the United States we have to wonder what is going to ultimately fix this problematic world. Surely based upon the many trials and errors throughout the centuries, "Man" simply is not going to "get the job done". Oh, we may come up with another band aid as we have so many times in the past, garnering times of peace and prosperity. Although as history shows us, the world is full of greed and no doubt we will ultimately fail as we have in the past. The bottom-line, there is only "One" that can and will cleanse this world of it's troubles.

During the early 90's Keith Lutz' song, "Your Old Stomping Grounds" told us all what the solution must be. When I heard this song for the first time just a few years ago, and I am proud to say, it brought tears to my eyes. Even hearing it many times since, my arms still get goosebumps while listening to this wonderful tune. Others that listen may find it sad and that's totally understandable. However, we can be happy knowing what will ultimately come to pass. Without further cue I offer in kind regard,

Below are the lyrics as I heard them:

Jesus maybe You can help me,
since You know your way around so well.
You see this sacred land you walked through,
it's turned into a living hell.
Remember where You walked on water,
took the storm and calmed it down.
We sure could use some calming down,
here on Your old stomping grounds.
Could I ask You for a favor,
just a few days out of town.
Thought we might handle it without You,
But there's some bad stuff goin down.
I was gonna wait til Sunday,
but I think we need You here right now.
Would You drop in for a visit.. Lord,
here on Your old stomping grounds.
I have no way of knowing Lord,
how things got so out of hand.
But I'm afraid the hopes of all the world might end,
here where it all began.
So I'm hoping You can help me,
since You know Your way around so well.
Before this sacred sand You walked on,
turns into a living hell.
Remember when You walked on water,
took the storm and calmed it down.
We sure could use some calming down,
here on Your old stomping grounds.
Would You consider coming down,
back to Your old stomping grounds.

Keep an eye on the Sky
